Two Hour Special!

March 13, 2009

We are very excited that ABC has selected our Build for a 2 HOUR Special airing on April 12th - Easter Sunday! The outpouring of support and love for the Kadzis family is so evident that one hour just couldn't be enough!!! This family of heroes is so deserving and their story is awesome. We are so saddened by George's passing but are so encouraged that he knew this Build was happening, and that he was able to feel a scaled model of the home while in the hospital.

We are so overwhelmed by the love and generosity of our community.  The outpouring of support was beyond our expectations.  The Kadzis family, our hometown heroes, are a changed family forever due to your love. Jake and I thank each and every tradesperson, volunteer, donor and prayer warrior.  Thank you for helping this deserving family and showing the world the hometown spirit of Tallahassee and Leon County.

Moving Right Along!

We are moving right along and want to thanks all the volunteers, sponsors and trades. The outpouring of support and people "stepping up" has been overwhelming. From our "shout-outs" for additional skilled labor, to surprise material needs - thanks for everything!

Congratulations to the Kadzis family!  Your story truly inspires everyone.  It was a pleasure to meet you today and we cannot wait to be get to know you more.  Know that we are praying for George and your entire family.  We hope you enjoy some R&R this week! 

A special thank you to all the incredible trades and volunteers!  You are an inspiration as well.  It is your can-do spirit and selflessness that will make this an incredible experience for the Kadzis family.  

The Pep Rally was a great success!

Thanks to Andra Kay Musselwhite for coordinating a great event! Special thanks to Bradfordville First Baptist Church and Pastor Mark Wilbanks for hosting the rally.

The tone was set for a great time when the Leon High School Pep Band, Cheerleaders and Dance Team set the tone. Ya'll were awesome. We had a great time and thank you's go out to everyone who attended. We can't wait to continue this journey and change a family's life forever. It is truly the strength and resourcefulness of this community that will allow for this Tallahassee Build to be a tremendous success.

Thanks to everyone for their outpouring of support and words of encouragement. We all live in a great community and that spirit of giving is evident. We have received hundreds of volunteer requests and we are working behind the scenes to fill slots and work out the details. If you know of anyone interested in partnering with us as a Sponsor please send them to the site - we are in big need of that! And any donation amount is very appreciated. Thanks again and let's show the country and this deserving family what Tallahassee and Leon County are all about!

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Teams Up With MyddeltonParker Builders

February 6th, 2009

Jake and I are so excited to join with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to help one Tallahassee family realize their dreams. It's going to be a great experience for us and our families, our valued tradespeople and volunteers, and the entire community. Our hope is that this will be a rallying cry for hope, for neighbor helping neighbor, and for good news to be the headlining story.

We thank everyone in advance for their support, encouragement and enthusiasm. Though we do not know which of the five families will be selected, we are definitely looking forward to meeting them!

We know our community will join with us in the donation of time, talent and financial assistance. Let's show this family and this country what Tallahassee is all about!
